The Three Different Peroxide Teeth Whitening Choices

Peroxide teeth whitening isn’t anything new but it still remains to be an accepted method that whitens yellowish or tarnished teeth for a brighter smile. An approved method by the American Dental Association (ADA), there are basically three options to choose from among peroxide teeth whiteners. You can make your choice depending on your budget, or you could splurge little or more for a pleasant teeth whitening experience and longer lasting results. The choice rests on your hands, really, since all these methods are proven to be effective.

Hydrogen peroxide only composes of two basic elements – hydrogen and oxygen. However, the combination of these two in a certain way has made this compound a weak acid that is capable of oxidization. When used on hair, it results in the popular “bleach blonde” look. On the skin, it has a similar whitening effect. On the teeth, it still retains its whitening property and has been approved for use with teeth whitening products.

The cheapest option that you have if you want to don pearly whites is to create your own hydrogen peroxide teeth whitening mixture. This could be done by mixing hydrogen peroxide with a batch of baking soda to a point that they form a thick paste. Once it has formed into a paste, you could add some mint toothpaste into it to give it a minty taste and some table salt to exfoliate your teeth. Use this mixture to brush your teeth twice a week instead of your toothpaste and you will expect results within a few weeks of use.

A more convenient and yet more costly option is to purchase carbamide peroxide teeth whitening products in the market. These products include carbamide peroxide and may or may not include hydrogen peroxide in its mixture. Still, these products remain to be highly effective with or without the hydrogen peroxide compound and could come in forms like teeth strips, trays, or gels.

The most expensive option which has the longest-lasting effects would be to avail teeth whitening services from dental clinics which offer laser treatments or higher-concentrated hydrogen solutions. Hydrogen peroxide whiten teeth effectively which is why dental clinics still offer it despite advanced laser technology.

No matter what your choice is, all three options under peroxide teeth whitening are guaranteed to provide you successful results by effectively whitening your teeth. The difference among the three available options depends on your budget and whether you are willing to spend for a more comfortable teeth whitening experience.
